KIA
This KIA commercial building (often referred to as a 3S or 4S Centre) is a signature automotive facility in Kuching, Sarawak, specifically associated with distributors like Yu Lee Hong Motors or Naza Kia. The building’s design is a sharp reflection of Kia’s "Opposites United" global design philosophy, emphasizing a bold, futuristic identity.
Architectural Design & Exterior
-
Modern Geometric Facade: The building features a prominent "black box" aesthetic on its upper level, using dark, textured cladding panels that provide a high-end, sophisticated feel. This is often contrasted with a clean, white structural frame.
-
Double-Volume Glazing: The ground floor showroom is encased in massive, high-performance glass curtain walls. This "transparent gallery" effect ensures that the latest KIA models, such as the EV6, EV9, or Carnival, are fully visible to passing traffic along Kuching’s busy thoroughfares.
-
Signature Lighting: Integrated LED strips often trace the building’s horizontal lines, mimicking the sleek DRL (Daytime Running Light) signatures found on modern KIA vehicles. This makes the building highly visible and "shining" during the evening.
-
Branding: The new, minimalist KIA wordmark is typically placed high on the facade, often backlit to create a floating effect against the dark cladding.
