PTP Engineering Workshop Expansion & RTG Maintenance Bay

Architectural & Site Overview

The engineering workshop complex is designed as a highly efficient, modern industrial hub integrated directly into the port’s logistics ecosystem. It features a clean, industrial chic aesthetic characterized by strong rectilinear geometries, a functional white-and-grey color palette, and sustainable design elements.

Main Workshop & Maintenance Building

  • Structure & Form: A massive, elongated single storey industrial structure featuring a wide-span steel frame optimized for housing heavy machinery, spare parts, and large-scale port equipment maintenance.

  • Roofing & Sustainability: The building utilizes a low-pitched gable roof completely integrated with a large scale solar photovoltaic (PV) array, highlighting a commitment to renewable energy and reducing the facility's carbon footprint.

  • Operational Access: The side elevation faces an expansive apron and is equipped with sequential, high clearance industrial roller shutter doors, allowing seamless indoor to outdoor movement for heavy duty port vehicles and container handlers.

Administrative & Technical Control continuous Block

  • Structure: Adjacent to the workshop sits a prominent multi story administrative and utility tower block. It features a minimalist, block-like modern architectural style finished in clean white.

  • Interconnection: A prominent enclosed overhead pedestrian bridge (skyway) connects this administrative hub directly to the main workshop building, ensuring safe, weather-protected, and efficient traffic flow for engineers and technical staff between the office and operational zones.

Site Layout & Logistics Infrastructure

  • Zoning & Circulation: The site layout enforces strict traffic segregation. A dedicated, linear multi-bay parking lot runs parallel to the workshop for staff and visitor vehicles, bordered by a dense, preserved green buffer zone.

  • Heavy Vehicle Staging: Broad, heavy-duty asphalt aprons surround the facility, featuring highly organized, angled parking bays specifically designated for prime movers, container trailers, and logistics trucks.

  • Proximity to Operations: The workshop complex is strategically positioned directly parallel to the automated container yard blocks and rubber-tired gantry (RTG) crane tracks, minimizing transit time for critical port equipment maintenance and servicing.
